Let's sing a song in one of the most wonderful and rich languages of the world:
Enikeni ti iwo ba nipa lati se iranlowo fun ohun l'enikeji re o toju, toju o!
Enikeni ti iwo ba nipa lati se iranlowo fun o, ohun naa l'enikeji re, toju re e.
Translation:
Whoever you're able to meet his/her needs at a point he or she needed it most is your neighbour; take care of him or her!
The song is teaching moral and biblical injunctions in Yoruba language telling everybody that whenever you're eating well, living well, having bread enough and to spare while your neighbour is not well, living below average and have little or nothing to eat, you're a Christian not fully ready for heaven or rapture.
On this note I want to declare that I was sent to ask all so called believers in Christ Jesus an intriguing question in time like this and we must all answer it with all sincerity.
This pandemic called covid-19 has done a lot of havoc throughout the world, most especially in under developed country of the world like Nigeria where many of our political leaders are thieves and corrupt.
Many self employed citizens have been affected by the government enforced lockdown they claimed to use to reduced the spread of this demonic corona virus.
Some of the developed countries of the world like European Union sent 50 millions Dollars to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of General Muhammad Buhari and other philanthropists did the same but they refused to give it out to the citizens and they are making life hard for all of us who are self employed, petty traders, interstate drivers and those who eat from hands to mouths in the country.
Nigerian Population is not up to 200 millions but imagine what they have gathered so far during this pandemic period; billions of dollars. What's bad in giving out at least $50 to each citizen's Bank Account Number through our BVN that's with the Central Bank of Nigeria on weekly basis to help the suffering masses.
Merciless country leaders of the world will kill more of their citizens than corona virus itself through their selfish and wicked way of life.
Even some wicked political leaders are ready to enrich their pockets through this pandemic period.
Believers in Christ let's rise up to the challenges of the time and shine out the light of the Gospel through benevolent giving and leave them for the judgement to God. For they shall be judged according to their wicked way of life
Let's see what the Word of Life have to say on this from the story of the Despised Good Samaritan Luke 10: 25 - 37
One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?”
The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”
This is a a message for us all that if we love the Lord with all of our ❤️ hearts, souls and strength we will as well love our neighbours as ourselves and by doing this according to our Master's unfailing Word we will live.
For this reason let's rise up to assist our neighbours in time like this in the aspect of feeding and material things.
.Let's continue: from verse 29;
The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Jesus replied with a story: “A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road.
“By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.
A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.
“Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.
Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.
The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’
“Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked.
The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”
This passage revealed to us that it's a slap on your face and thing of shame as a priest or church workers when your responsibility is been done by a more lesser person than your personality.
It simply means the Lord has replaced you with non living things like the despised Samaritan in the passage above. When you as a Christian fail to do God's will in time like this. God chooses to replace you with stones for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Don't forget the message our Master Jesus Christ himself passed across to the citizens of Jerusalem in those day when they wanted to stop people shouting hossanna to Him on the day of His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He said if you stop them from praising me the stone will be animated to praise Him.
What a great message! Lord Jesus, do not replaced me with stone in your vineyard.
Listen to this: Given life to stone to replace you means that you've now render yourself useless to the extent that stone is now better than you.
During the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, every Bible student knows that the Samaritan and the Jews are not in good terms, and now that a Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho and was robbed by robbers and was beaten to the point of death, his people saw him and refused to help him. A priest that was teaching the law of Moses in the temple of God for that matter refused to help his neighbor. A worker in the temple of the living God also came around and also refused to lend a helping hand.
Then come a despised Samaritan; disregarded and disrespected sect of people in the society that many people looked at disdainfully came around and assisted someone from the group that never see any good things in them.
My dear Believers in Christ Jesus, your refusals to do what is right in time like this will lead to your replacement. God will replace you with stone; someone who is not even better than you will be used to replace you and rendered you useless!
That person that is dying of hunger around you or in a far distance from you that you know need your help, assist him/her now before it's too late for you!
God's will shall be done on earth whether you do it or not. If you're the one in his plan to do it and you refused to do it, he will show His supremacy and command the stone to do it in your place; meaning that God will have to replaced you with stone. Luke 19:28-40
Don't let this happen to you, rise up to your responsibility in time like this as the salt and light of this world! Matthew 5:13-16
Sow now, the time of harvest draws near when you will not be able to sow again.
For many of us reading this epistle that are in need just because of the challenges covid-19 has brought to the world, rejoice and put your trust in God for He has not forgotten us.
Sing this song from the depth of your hearts and pray the prayer that follows.
Yoruba Song:
Ko gb'agbemi, Olorun mi ko gb'agbemi
Bo ti wu k'oni:le ola a dara!
Translation:
He forgets me not, my God forgets me not
No matter how hard today may seems, tommorow will be the best!
Now let's call on the Almighty and say: God of all flesh, rise to my aids today, oh Lord! "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing." Psalms 34:10. I am seeking your face, oh, Lord, let those you assigned to me to assist me in time like this from every nook and cranny of the world come to my aids right now but if they refused your order quickly replace them with stone to put an end to my suffering today in Jesus Christ name!
Your miracle is on the way! Receive it now in Jesus Christ name!
Yours in Christ,
Agbofinro Olodumare
